Context

Mobile automation owner working with 4 developers on the World Logistics Passport React Native app for Android and iOS.

Problem

A cross-platform React Native app shipping to both Android and iOS had no mobile automation: every flow, gesture, and device configuration had to be verified by hand, across different screen sizes, OS versions, and manufacturers.

Approach

Built the mobile automation framework in Java with Appium and Selenium WebDriver, configuring capabilities for both platforms against the React Native app. Authored the Android suite first — critical user flows, navigation, form submissions, and platform-specific behaviors — then extended to iOS with the XCUITest driver, adapting for iOS-specific interactions and gestures while keeping a shared test architecture. Ran the full suite on local physical devices, emulators, and simulators to validate across screen sizes, then integrated BrowserStack for cloud execution on multiple real devices with parallel runs for faster feedback. Allure reports carried execution logs and failure screenshots; Jira handled bug and test case management.

Results

  • 200+ automated test cases
  • 2 platforms — Android and iOS — from one shared architecture
  • BrowserStack cloud execution across multiple real devices, in parallel
